Jewellery and Job Interviews.

Yesterday I spent the day selling my items at the Old Bus Depot Markets, Kingston, ACT.

I had a customer come in and explained that she was looking for some new jewellery for a job interview she had the following day. She was going for a promotion at a Government Department. She asked for my opinion on what I thought would work with her outfit.

I’ve had this few question a few times, after all I work in the Government Capital of Australia, and these are my  top tips for choosing the perfect piece of jewellery.

1. It should show some of your personality

Your future employer is employing you, not just your resume. I recommend that you get something tasteful that shows your personality but won’t be a show stealer.

 2. It should match your outfit

Make sure the colours match or at a minimum are complimentary to your outfit. Mostly you just want to ensure that the piece of jewellery you have chosen doesn’t drastically clash and detract from what you are saying. What you are saying is the whole point of why you are there.

 3. You should be comfortable in the outfit and also your jewellery

If you aren’t comfortable in what you are wearing, you will have some unconscious focus on that during your interview. It will detract from what you are saying.

Have an interview coming up? Try something like these:

Funky Rose Gold Triangles

Pop Studs - Barnard

Bronze Photo Locket - Bird Meeting
